KATHMANDU: Nepal is experiencing the effects of a partial monsoon as a low-pressure area forms off the coasts of India’s south Odisha and north Andhra Pradesh, leading to rainfall in Kathmandu and several provinces.

The Meteorological Forecasting Division (MFD) issued warnings about potential floods and landslides in Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini, and Sudurpaschim provinces over the next 24 hours.

Meanwhile, several regions, particularly in the provinces of Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki, are currently experiencing light to moderate rainfall.

Additionally, a few areas in Lumbini, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim provinces are also witnessing similar weather conditions.

As the day progresses, the country is expected to experience partly cloudy skies.

However, meteorologists caution that hilly regions, including Gandaki, Lumbini, and Sudurpaschim provinces, might encounter episodes of light to moderate rain accompanied by thunder and lightning during the afternoon.

People have been advised to take precautions and stay vigilant during this period of unstable weather.
