President Paudel grants amnesty to 482 prisoners, including Resham Chaudhary



KATHMANDU: President Ram Chandra Paudel has granted amnesty to 482 prisoners, including Resham Chaudhary, on the occasion of Republic Day.

The spokesperson of the President’s Office, Shailaja Regmi Bhattarai, issued a statement informing that the prison sentences of 482 prisoners, including Resham Chaudhary, have been waived.

Only on Sunday, a meeting of the cabinet recommended to President Paudel to pardon Chaudhary’s sentence.

Based on the recommendation of the Council of Ministers, a total of 482 prison sentences, including Hem Bahadur named Ramesh Thalang and senior citizen Udaya Narayan Giri, has been waived, effective from Monday.
