Protestors seeking identification in naming Province assault Ward Chair in Urlabari



BIRATNAGAR: The protestors rose against the naming of Kosi Province have padlocked the Urlabari Municipality of Morang.

In addition, they have also beaten Chintamani Paidyal, the ward Chairman of Urlabari-6.

Irate at the naming of the Province as Koshi Province, the dissent groups have been conducting a second phase of protest of late.

During the protest, Padam Limbu, who was injured by the beating of the police, died while undergoing treatment. The protesters have become more aggressive after Limbu’s death.

Although the provincial government has decided to give three lakhs Rupees to the family of Limbu who lost his life in the agitation, the protesters have demanded to declare him a martyr.
