Tourism Minister Kirati unveils 10-pt action plan



KATHMANDU: Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Sudan Kirati has introduced a 10-point action plan ranging from making diplomatic efforts to operate the Gautam Buddha International Airport in full fledge to taking forward the Civil Aviation Bill.

The Minister shared that preparations were afoot to establish the Pashupati University, 3 month-long Pashupati Cleanup Campaign, formation of a permanent unit in the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal to receive complaints on gender-based violence among others.

Furthermore, an investigation committee would be formed to look into the grounded aircrafts and directives would be devised to institutionalize cleaning drive in the heritage sites, he said.

The Minister informed that the Bharatpur Airport would be expanded.

According to him, during his time in the Ministry so far, he ensured that there was online ticket system for the Nepal Airlines Corporation, made sure that there was managerial reforms and sanitation drive as well as tangible progresses in the aviation security, Lumbini Master Plan and internet access in departmental areas among others.
