Students protest at TU demanding timely exam and result-publication



KATHMANDU: The university students studying under Tribhuvan University took to protest in front of the Controller of Examinatins Office, Balkhu, Kirtipur on Thursday seeking the assurance of timely examination and result publication system.

Today, the demonstration was organized at the call of the Free Student Union of the Kirtipur based Central Campus of TU.

The students urged for for improvements in the age-old system of Tribhuvan University.

The demonstrators demanded reforms in various aspects such as avoiding the politicization of University, implementation of an academic calendar, timely revenue clearance, and distribution of certificates.

During the demonstration, Shyamraj Ojha, the president of the Free Student Union, expressed concerns that the inefficiency of Tribhuvan University officials has jeopardized the future of thousands of students.

He accused the authorities of the university, including the Chancellor and Prime Minister, of being indifferent to Tribhuvan University, apart from political interests. He alleged sluggishness in the appointment of vacant positions of Vice-Chancellor and professors. He warned that unless efforts for improvement are made promptly, the situation at Tribhuvan University would deteriorate further.
