NEPSE witnesses a double-digit decline on Wednesday



KATHMANDU: The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) has observed a decline of double digits in its index on Wednesday.

Today, the NEPSE index dropped by 17.23 points to stand at 2070.84.

A total of 14,337,738 shares of 307 companies were traded today, resulting in a turnover of NPR 5,248,782,611.11 in 117,476 transactions.

The mutual fund group saw a rise of 0.53 in its sub-index, while the life insurance group increased by 0.16 percent. On the other hand, the sub-index of all other groups has decreased. The trade group witnessed a decline of 2.32 percent in the sub-index.

Four companies hit the positive circuit in their share prices today. Nepal Insurance Company Limited, Infinity Microfinance Limited, Manakamana Engineering Hydro Power Limited, and Chirkhaba Hydro Power Limited observed a 10 percent increment in their share prices. However, BPW Microfinance Limited experienced a negative circuit, as per NEPSE.

In terms of business volume, Sonapur Minerals and Oil Limited stood at the top with a turnover of NPR 196,664,793. Meanwhile, Himal Dolakha Hydro Power Company Limited saw the trading of 57,075 shares, the highest in terms of the share numbers.
