Asian Games T20: Nepal crushes Mongolia by 273 runs

KATHMANDU: Nepal has scripted a remarkable cricketing milestone with a resounding victory of 273 runs against Mongolia in a match held during the Asian Games in China.

This monumental win now stands as the largest-ever margin of victory in T20 international cricket.

Before this historic feat, the Czech Republic had set a world record with a 257-run win over Turkey, establishing an unmatched benchmark for the widest margin of victory.

In the showdown against Mongolia, Nepal took to the crease first, setting a formidable target of 315 runs. In response, Mongolia’s batting lineup crumbled, managing a mere 41 runs in 13.1 overs before being dismissed.

Nepal’s bowling attack proved to be the difference-maker, with Karan KC, Avinash Bohra, and Sandeep Lamichhane each claiming 2 wickets.

Remarkably, only one Mongolian batsman managed to reach double figures in terms of runs scored.

Nepal will play next match against the Maldives.
