11 candidates file nominations for leadership of 10 Parliamentary Thematic Committees

KATHMANDU: Nominations were officially lodged for the upcoming elections of presidents for the 10 thematic committees within the House of Representatives (HoR). The Federal Parliament Secretariat has disclosed that numerous political parties, including the Nepali Congress, CPN-UML, Maoist Centre, Rastriya Swatantra Party, Rastriya Prajatantra Party, Janata Samajbadi Party, Unified Socialist, and the Janamat Party, submitted their nominations for the forthcoming election.

Maoist Center leaders will come under investigation if found involved in corruption cases: PM Dahal

Prime Minister and CPN-Maoist Center Chairman, Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda,’ has affirmed a comprehensive investigation into all instances of corruption and irregularities. DPM Shrestha calls for maintaining religious tolerance

Deputy Prime Minister (DPM) and Home Minister Narayan Kaji Shrestha has urged one and all to keep up the inter-caste and religious tolerance. Addressing a press conference in Birgunj today, he called for maintaining the unity in diversity since Nepal’s identity is a nation with multi-ethnic, multi-linguistic and multi-cultural identities.

Chhurpi exported to the US

Chhurpi (hardened cheese) produced by Akala Namuna Small Farmers Agricultural Cooperatives located in Waling Municipality-8 of Syangja is being exported to the United States. Chhurpi costs Rs 1,000 and 1,100 per kilogram. The churppi produced by our cooperatives is exported to the US, said Chairperson of the cooperatives, Punya Prasad Aryal.

Gold traded at Rs 111,100 per tola today

Gold price remained unchanged in the domestic market today. According to the Nepal Gold and Silver Dealers’ Association, the price of fine gold has been set at Rs. 111,100 per tola, while standard gold is being traded at Rs. 110,550 per tola. The precious yellow metal was valued at Rs. 111,100 per tola, and standard gold at Rs. 110,550 per tola on Friday.
