Three arrested in Lalita Niwas land grab scam released on Tuesday
Three people arrested on Tuesday in the Lalita Niwas land scam have been released by the police after making them sign the documents promising to appear before authority when called. Former joint secretary Kaladhar Deuja, former undersecretary Hupendramani KC, and Surendra Kapali were arrested and released within a few hours.
District Election Offices will not be dissolved: FM Mahat
Finance Minister Dr Prakash Sharan Mahat has clarified that the independent existence of the District Election Office would continue. Making clear about the issues raised by lawmakers of the opposition parties in the first meeting of the House of Representatives today, Finance Minister Mahat said the government would not deviate from the thinking that general people should participate in election in a free and fearless manner.
Bhatbhateni Supermarket owner Gurung among five arrested in Lalita land grab scam
The Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) of Nepal Police arrested five individuals, among them Min Bahadur Gurung, the owner of Bhatbhateni Super Market, in relation to the Lalita Niwas land scam. Gurung was taken into custody from his residence in Naxal. The CIB has reopened the investigation into the irregularities surrounding the Lalita Niwas land grab case, which had been suspended for a year and a half due to the intervention of the Attorney General.

Joint General Secretary of the Nepali Congress, Badri Prasad Pande, has said Nepali Congress (NC) should be strengthened for institutionalized development of democracy in the country.
280 million liters of water being distributed in Kathmandu Valley
A total of 280 million litres of water– 170 million liters from Melamchi Drinking Water Supply Project and 110 million litres from local sources – is being distributed in the Kathmandu Valley at present. According to Minister for Water Supply Mahindra Raya Yadav, works were being undertaken to ensure smooth supply of water from the Project even in this monsoon.

Nepal has defeated Pakistan to register a consolation win in the 14th SAAF Championship football tournament underway in India. In the last group match held today at Kanteerava Stadium in Bangalore, India, Nepal defeated Pakistan by 1-0.
RoK ambassador calls on Minister Modi
