ACC Men’s Premier Cup: Nepal set 158 runs target against Qatar



KATHMANDU: In the last match of the group stage of the ACC Men’s Premier League, Nepal was bowled out for 157 runs.

After losing the toss and being invited to bat first, Nepal lost all their wickets after scoring 157 runs in 40.3 overs of the match.

Sandeep Lamichhane scored the most runs for Nepal. He scored 42 runs unbeaten. Captain Rohit Paudel scored 27 runs, Aasif Sheikh 19 and Dipendra Singh Airee 12 runs. Similarly, Sompal Kami and Aarif Sheikh scored 11 runs each in the match. Other bats man could not score in double digits.

While Amir Farooq took the most four wickets for Qatar, Owais Ahmed took three wickets, Gayan Munaweera took two wickets and Ikramullah Khan took one wicket.

As the previous match was canceled due to rain, Nepal reached the semi-finals one match earlier after sharing a draw with Saudi Arabia.

From group A comprising Nepal, Oman has also made it to the semi-finals.

A win against Qatar will make Nepal join the semi-final securing the top position.
On the other hand, Qatar wants to leave the tournament with its first win.
