Child dies due to lightning strike



PHUNGLIN: An 11-year-old boy was killed and two people were injured when lightning struck them last night here.

The deceased is Dorchi Sherpa of Sanghu Chitre, Maiwakhola Rural Municipality-4.

The boy’s father Darinji and mother Mingla Lhamu have been seriously injured due to the lightning that occurred amid a hailstorm.

Both are being treated at the District Hospital, said Bijaya Prakash Wanem, the Rural Municipality Chairman.
