Light snowfall predicted in high-hill areas today

KATHMANDU: The westerly wind has a general impact in the country’s weather system now.

Due to the effects of the weather system, the mountainous area of the country would witness partial to general changes while remaining areas would generally see clean weather, the Weather Forecasting Division said.

As informed, partial to general changes would occur in the mountainous belt of the country this afternoon while light rain with thunderstorms are to take place in some areas of the mountainous belt in the province-1, Bagmati and Gandaki provinces and in 1-2 places of Lumbini, Karnali and Sudurpaschim provinces.

Light snowfall is predicted in limited areas of high hill and Himalayan territory in the country, the Division informed.

Likewise, in the night time, partial changes would occur in the mountainous area while light snowfall is likely to take place in 1-2 places of the high-hill and Himalayan region of the province-1 and Gandaki province.

Today Kathmandu has a minimum temperature of 10.1 degree Celcius and maximum 23 degree Celsius.
