NC lawmaker Sharma demands Home Minister and Finance Minister’s resignation

KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress (NC) lawmaker Sunil Sharma has demanded the resignation of the Home Minister and the Finance Minister in the illegal gold smuggling case.

Sharma demanded Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister Narayan Kaji Shrestha and Finance Minister Dr. Prakash Sharan Mahat should resign on moral grounds in the gold smuggling case.

“The Home Minister and the Finance Minister should take responsibility for the smuggling incident as they failed to track and take action against the culprit involved in the gold trafficking,” he said, adding, “Arresting the porter is not enough, either the Home Minister should set the earliest deadline to reach the main person behind the smuggling or they should resign.”

Sharma warned to start fast onto death after Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal’s return from Italy provided the government failed to nab the culprit of gold smuggling by then.
