NEPSE increases by 11.69 points on Monday



KATHMANDU: The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) had a nominal double-digit growth on Monday, the second trading day of the week.

The NEPSE index, which rose by 62.21 points on Sunday, rose by 11.69 points to 2129.42 points on Monday.

Similarly, the Sensitive Index increased by 3.66 points, while the Float Index increased by 0.99 points and the Sensitive Float Index increased by 1.40 points.

11 million 903 thousand shares of 279 companies that came into trading on Monday were bought and sold worth more than 5.31 billion rupees. The shares worth more than 6 billion rupees were traded on Sunday.

Out of the 13 subgroups of NEPSE, the index of 8 subgroups increased while the index of 5 subgroups decreased. In which hydropower, life insurance, non-life, other and business sub-groups declined. The microfinance sub-group index increased the most by 3.99 percent while the finance sub-group index increased by 3.11 percent.

With the NEPSE index increasing by 11.69 points, the shares of Himalayan Life Insurance Company reached a positive circuit level. Similarly, BPO financial institutions and seven other companies increased by 9.99 percent.

However, since then, the price of Super Madi Hydro Power Company decreased by 6.94 percent. Shares of Shivam Cements Company worth 42.5 million rupees were traded on Monday.
