Fake Bhutanese refugee scam: Another absconder arrested

KATHMANDU: Police arrested Laxmi Maharjan, who was absconding in the fake Bhutanese refugee scam.

Sources informed that Maharjan of Lalitpur was arrested and brought to the District Court in Kathmandu on Friday.

With the arrest of Maharjan, police have detained 17 individuals in this case so far.

As of Friday afternoon, 14 individuals indicted in the case are still absconding.

The District Attorney’s Office has already filed a case against 30 individuals.
