NEPSE declines by 26.87 points, transaction amount shrinks to Rs 1.28 billion



KATHMANDU: Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) witnessed a double-digit decline on Sunday, the first trading day of the week.

The stock market fell by 26.87 points to 1888.27 points today. This is a decline of 1.40 percent.

On Sunday, 37 lakh 54 thousand 334 shares were bought and sold from 32 thousand 168 transactions of 259 securities.

The transaction amount also shrunk to Rs 1.289 billion today. Last Thursday, there was a transaction of Rs 1.41 billion.

On the first transaction day of the week the prices of all the sub-indices fell alarmingly. The investors in mutual funds and microfinance lost the most.

Even in the declining market, the prices of Maya Khola Hydro and Asian Hydro increased to positive circuit levels on Sunday. The price of Kalinchok Darshan Pvt Ltd also increased remarkably.

Share prices of Jeevan Bikas Microfinance, Jalpa Community Microfinance, Unique Nepal Microfinance and Mahila Microfinance decreased to negative circuit levels today.
