Police arrest Chinese national on charge of abusing girl

KATHMANDU: The Nepal Police have arrested a Chinese national on the charge of abusing a girl.

A team from the Central Investigation Bureau, Nepal Police held Yang Li Ming, 49, on the same charge and handed him to the Lalitpur police for investigations, said the police.

The police have rescued the girl. Investigations into the case have begun, said Superintendent of Police Prabin Pokharel at the District Police Range, Lalitpur.

A team of the Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) of the police arrested him on Saturday.

According to CIB spokesperson SP Sanjay Singh Thapa, he used to get to know the minors through Facebook and invite them to Kathmandu by showing various temptations during the conversation.

He even rented a car to reach Kathmandu. After coming to Kathmandu, the minors were involved in various recreational activities (going to clubs, discos and restaurants) and sexually exploited by showing financial and other temptations.
