Unified Socialist Chair Nepal stresses formation of national govt

JANAKPURDHAM: Chairman of Unified Socialist Party, Madhav Kumar Nepal, has emphasized the need for all political parties, including the CPN-UML, to come together to form a national government.

“There has been no discussion about reshuffling the government,” he said at a program in Janakpurdham, adding, “I am in favor of forming a national consensus government with the participation of UML.”

Chairman Nepal said Nepali Congress senior leader Ram Chandra Poudel would be elected as the country’s President.

Leader Nepal further said despite being offered the post of President by the CPN-UML, he did not want to betray the Nepali Congress and other political parties.

He also dismissed reports of “foreign meddling” on the issue of electing the President.
