17 injured in road accidents in Dhading today



MALEKHU, DHADING: As many as 18 persons sustained injuries in four separate road accidents in Dhading on Wednesday.

Twelve persons were injured when three vehicles collided near the Chiraudi Bridge in Galchhi rural municipality-4 along the Prithvi Highway.

According to DSP Santulal Prasad Jaiswar of District Police Office Dhading, a bus (Ba 3 Kha 8395) en route to Kathmandu from Dhading hit a motorbike (Ba 60 Pa 4869) coming from the opposite direction and it happened to collide with a car (Bagmati Province 01-028 Cha 9336) heading to Kathmandu.

Motorbike rider Jeetendra Pathak, 26, of Galchhi rural municipality in Dhading, and his wife Jyoti Pathak, 25, sustained critical injuries in the accident, police said. They were referred to Kathmandu for further treatment, DSP Jaiswar shared.

Among the injured are Sunita Karki, 30, of Chandragiri rural municipality-14, his three-year-old Kritika Karki, Jib Prasad Dhamala, 73, and Dhanimaya Dhamala, 70, of Dhading Nilakahtha municipality-11.

Likewise, Khus Kumari Timilsina, 55, of Dhading Siddhalek rural municipality-1, nine-year-old Sandhya Timilsina, Rajkumari Shrestha, 44, and Som Bahadur Gurung, 43, of Nilakahtha-11 also sustained injuries in the road mishap.

Nawaraj Rijal, 45, of Thakre rural municipality-2 and his daughter Samjhana Rijal, 21, were injured in the accident according to the police.

Most the passengers of the speeding bus that suddenly met with the accident sustained injuries in their face and bodies.

Those with minor injuries are being treated in Galchhi-based Ambi Bharosa Hospital while motorbike rider and pillion rider were taken to Kathmandu for treatment.

Police took control bus driver and car driver along with all three vehicles.

This is the fourth road accident in Dhading today.

Earlier, a person was injured when a micro bus (Ba 4 Kha 4177) en route to Kathmandu and a car (Ba 21 Pa 6090) en route to Gajuri from Kathmandu collided at Gajuri rural municipality-6, Banchhetar.

Likewise, three persons sustained injuries when two motorbikes collided with each other in Benighat Rorang-3, Shitalbazaar while a person was injured in a motorbike accident at Salyantar of Tripurasundari rural municipality.
