Historical 13-storey Temple in Arghakhanchi awaits publicity

ARGHAKHANCHI: The 13-storey Aakashdevi Temple at Bahigaun Tarakhase in Chhatradev rural municipality in Arghakhanchi district has been overshadowed by a lack of adequate publicity.

The historically and religiously significant Devi shrine is the tallest one in the district. The Temple built in 2008 BS was rebuilt in its present form by the Temple Management Committee.

The local authority and locals are worried about the Temple being overshadowed. Hence they have sprung into action for repair and maintenance and publicity of the Temple to attract the traffic.

Big fairs are organized in the Temple during Teej, Shivarattri, Ram Nawami, Bala Chathurdasi, Krishna Janmastati, and Dashain festivals, said Krishna Pandey, Chairperson of the Committee.

Pandey admitted that the Temple has been overshadowed by lack of publicity. Hence, the Committee has put in place some promotional events to be executed before the upcoming Dashain festival.

It is believed that the devotees who pay obeisance in the Temple are granted their wishes by the Devi (female Goddess).

Chandraman Shrestha, Chairperson of Chhatradev rural municipality, reaffirmed they would take forward the management of the Temple more effectively for, he added, the Temple was stood for the identity of Chhatradev rural municipality but also for the entire district.
