Landslide blocks Jai Prithvi Highway in Baitadi

BAITADI: The Jai Prithvi Highway has been blocked since last night due to the landslide triggered by continuous rainfall.

A landslide at Sribhavar has brought traffic to a halt on the highway.

As a result, passengers remain stranded. Passengers going to Bajhang via Baitadi and leaving Bajhang are stranded in the middle of the road.

Since the rain has not stopped landslide continues to take place thereby making it difficult to clear the road for traffic, said Baitadi Police Spokesperson Police Inspector Yogesh Khatri.

Hence, it will take some time to resume traffic on the highway.
