Rabi Lamichhane elected from Chitwan-2

Chairman of Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) Rabi Lamichhane has been elected as Member of the House of Representatives (HoR) from Chitwan Constituency-2. A by-election was held in the constituency on Sunday. Lamichhane garnered 54,276 votes while his closest contender Nepali Congress (NC) candidate Jitnarayan Shrestha, also the common candidate of the ruling alliance, got 11,114 votes.

Will ensure justice to people’s expectation: Swarnim Wagle

Newly-elected member of the House of Representatives (HoR) from Rastriya Swatantra Party, Dr Swarnim Wagle, pledged to meet the expectations of the people by ensuring justice and stated that he will collaborate and coordinate with all political parties in Tanahun.

Candidate of Rastriya Swatantra Party Dr. Swarnim Wagle has been elected as the Member of Parliament from Tanahu-1. Wagle defeated Nepali Congress candidate Govinda Bhattarai by 14,388 votes. Wagle got 34,480 votes while NC’s Bhattarai got 20,092 votes. Similarly, Sarbendra Khanal of CPN-UML garnered 8,555 votes.

Rastriya Swatantra party (RSP) lawmaker Dhaka Kumar Shrestha has been formally relieved from his post on Tuesday. Speaker Devraj Ghimire informed the House of Representatives meeting on Tuesday about the action taken against Shrestha and announced that his post has turned vacant now.
