UML to decide on government support after March 9, to ‘wait and see’ till presidential election



KATHMANDU: The CPN-UML has decided not to quit CPN-Maoist Center Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’-led government till the upcoming presidential election.

According to Prithvi Subba Gurung, the UML’s publicity department head, the Central Secretariat meeting of the party held today concluded to wait and see the reaction of other parties till the presidential election scheduled for March 9 and decide on the government after that.

“Since the date of the presidential election is on March 9, we will proceed according to the agreement made on December 25 until then, and we will not immediately withdraw the support given to the government,” Gurung said in a press conference.
