CPN-UML holding ‘crucial’ Secretariat meeting today



KATHMANDU: CPN-UML is holding a Secretariat meeting today to discuss the party’s future strategy.

The party has called a meeting of its Secretariat a day after eight political parties, including the Maoist Center, and Unified Socialist, decided to support Nepali Congress’ presidential candidate.

The CPN-UML has earlier proposed Madhav Kumar Nepal, Chairman of the Unified Socialist Party, as the presidential candidate.

However, Chairman Nepal, who is also a former Prime Minister, joined hands with Maoist Center and Nepali Congress.
