BHAKTAPUR: Rastriya Prajatantra Party Nepal (RPPN) Chairman Kamal Thapa oversaw the burning of an effigy representing Culture, Tourism, and Civil Aviation Minister Sudan Kirati in Bhaktapur on Sunday.

The party directed its action towards Minister Kirati, alleging his involvement in an assault and disrespecting the beliefs of 94% Omkar families and followers of Sanatan Dharma. They stated that Kirati’s actions led to the symbolic burning of his effigy due to what they deemed as unacceptable, disrespectful, and irresponsible expressions against the Hindu community. They’re pressing for the immediate dismissal of Minister Kirati.

At the rally held in Madhyapur Thimi, Bhaktapur, senior party leader Bishnu Bhattarai expressed opposition to Minister Kirati, calling for his immediate removal.

During his address at the event following a prior meeting, RPPN Chair Thapa urged activists to foster an environment conducive to revolution and thorough preparation.

Thapa stressed the urgent need for unity among nationalist, democratic, and republican forces to put an end to the corrupt federal democratic system. The party has decided to stage a protest assembly in Bhaktapur on January 1, 2024.
