UML’s campaign dispelled erroneous narratives: KP Oli

KATHMANDU: CPN-UML Chairman KP Oli asserted that the ‘Jhulaghat-Chiwabhanjang Campaign,’ spanning 18 days, countered misguided remarks seeking to politically revive the monarchy.

Speaking at a press conference at the party office in Chyasal on Sunday, Oli shared insights, evaluations, and messages gathered throughout the journey.

“Certain statements were made within this period, suggesting a return to monarchy, but we reject notions that disrupt social harmony and unity,” Oli emphasized.

UML Chairman Oli challenged nostalgic views favoring the Rana regime and Panchayat era, stating, “Claims that the Rana regime and the Panchayat were commendable are unacceptable.”

According to Oli, the campaign effectively dispelled erroneous narratives and fostered a more accurate understanding.

“This journey has been a triumph, dispelling pessimism caused by political instability, confusion, and disillusionment,” he added.

As part of the campaign, UML conducted public meetings across various districts, culminating in the final assembly in Phidim of Panchthar marking the end of the 18-day transformative journey.
