PM Dahal to address Nepal-China Business Summit in Beijing today



KATHMANDU: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda is scheduled to visit Beijing, China’s capital, today.

In Beijing, he is scheduled to deliver a keynote address at the upcoming Nepal-China Business Summit scheduled to take place in Beijing on Sunday.

The Nepal-China Business Summit is being organized by the Nepal Confederation of Industry and Commerce in collaboration with CCPIT, an organization representing Chinese industrialists, and the Nepali Embassy in China.

The summit is expected to witness the participation of over a hundred industrialists and businessmen from both Nepal and China, who will engage in discussions related to investment promotion in Nepal and the identification of potential investment sectors between the two nations.

In Beijing, Prime Minister Dahal will partake in a dinner hosted in his honor by Nepali Ambassador to China, Bishnu Pukar Shrestha, on Sunday.

On Monday, the Prime Minister is scheduled to meet with Chairman of the Standing Committee of China’s National People’s Congress, Chao Leji, as well as hold a bilateral meeting with his Chinese counterpart, Prime Minister Li Qiang.

Several key agreements between Nepal and China are set to be signed on the same day.

Following the bilateral meetings and the signing of cooperation agreements, Prime Minister Dahal will attend a program in Chongqing Metropolitan City of China to gain insights into the nation’s advancements in the agricultural and industrial sectors.

His itinerary also includes a visit to China’s Tibet Autonomous Region, which shares a border with Nepal, where he will meet with high-ranking regional officials.

Prime Minister Dahal commenced his visit to China on Saturday after representing Nepal at the 78th General Assembly of the United Nations in New York, where he delivered a speech.

Additionally, he attended the opening ceremony of the 19th Asian Games on the same day.

During his arrival in China, he had a meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping, during which bilateral interests and other aspects of Nepal-China relations were discussed.

Prime Minister Dahal and his delegation are scheduled to return to Nepal on September 30, marking the conclusion of his official visit to China.
