NC Central Committee: President Deuba, General Secretaries to address pressing issues in key announcement

KATHMANDU: The Central Committee meeting of the Nepali Congress will continue even today to address ongoing issues.

During the meeting that commenced on July 18th, General Secretary Bishwa Prakash Sharma presented 10 crucial agendas, followed by the annual action plan presented by General Secretary Gagan Thapa.

In today’s afternoon session, Party President Sher Bahadur Deuba, along with General Secretaries Sharma and Thapa, is scheduled to address the opinions and suggestions put forth by the central members during the meeting.

As the central members’ inputs have been collected until Sunday, this will mark the conclusion of the opinion phase.

It is expected that the party will arrive at decisions regarding the 10-point agenda presented during the course of this meeting on Monday or Tuesday.

It may be noted that speaking at the central committee meeting Sunday, NC central member Dr. Shekhar Koirala expressed his concern saying that the meeting has regrettably turned into a platform for accusations and frustration.

“The Central Committee meeting, meant to be a platform for productive discussions, has unfortunately been marred by accusations and frustration. This is not conducive to achieving our goals and objectives,” he stated.

He emphasized the importance of adhering to established rules and guidelines, drawing a parallel with how the country functions through the constitution, and suggested that the party should similarly rely on its internal regulations to move forward cohesively.
