Will reach a decision on absconding lawmaker soon: Home Minister Lamichhane

KATHMANDU: Home Minister Rabi Lamichhane has said that the Home Ministry will address the issues of crushers, absconding lawmaker, and agitating human rights activists within a couple of days.

Speaking at the meeting of the House of Representatives on Tuesday, he said that the Ministry of Home Affairs is working sensitively on these three issues.

“It will take some time to get concrete results,” he said adding, “Whether it is about crushers or absconding parliamentarian or protesting rights activists, the Ministry of Home Affairs is working very sensitively.”

Laxmi Mahato Koiri, who is on the run on murder charges, has been elected as a member of the House of Representatives and is participating in the Parliament meetings.

The Home Minister is being criticized for not being able to arrest the fugitive lawmaker even he appears in the parliament.
