Heavy security presence in Capital as Yuwa Sangh and Durga Prasai demonstrate strength

KATHMANDU: A substantial number of security personnel have been deployed across the Kathmandu Valley early this morning as the CPN-UML-affiliated Yuwa Sangh and medical entrepreneur Durga Prasai organize separate mass gatherings and demonstrations.

A command center, led by DIG Lalmani Acharya, has been established, bringing together teams from the Armed Police Force, the National Investigation Department, and the Nepal Army.

An estimated 7,000 security personnel are anticipated to be mobilized in the valley, including 2,500 in Kathmandu and 500 each in Lalitpur and Bhaktapur. Additionally, the Kathmandu Valley Crime Division has deployed undercover personnel to enhance security measures.

Furthermore, the police have announced the use of drones for monitoring both the demonstrations and gatherings.
