Tri-nation T20 series: Nepal secures 5 wickets victory over UAE

In the ongoing triangular T20I cricket series in Kathmandu, Nepal clinched a five-wicket victory against UAE on Monday. Nepal chased down the target of 165 runs set by UAE, achieving the required total with 5 wickets to spare in 19.2 overs. Aasif Sheikh led the charge for Nepal with an impressive knock of 62 runs, while Rohit Paudel contributed significantly with his 47 runs. In a critical moment, Dipendra Singh Airee, batting at number four, remained unbeaten with a crucial 40 runs.

Lawmakers must fulfill promises and commitments made during election: Khatun

Nepali Congress (NC) central member and parliamentarian Javeda Khatun Jaga asserted that it was the duty and responsibility of the parliamentarians to fulfill the promises and commitments made with voters during the election. Parliamentarian Khatun opined that it should not be taken otherwise that the parliamentarians elected to deliver on the commitments of development and public services made to people during election are found in ministries.

40,531 dengue cases confirmed in Nepal this year

A total of 40,531 cases of dengue have been confirmed in Nepal leading to the loss of 20 lives since the beginning of 2023. While the rate of infection is declining in districts, including Sunsari, Jhapa, Dhading, Morang, and other previously heavily affected districts, it is now rising in Gorkha, Kaski, Tanahun, and Kathmandu.

CCTV cameras installed in touristic Suketar bazaar

CCTV cameras have been installed in the Suketar bazaar of Phungling Municipality-6 in Taplejung district. The surveillance of the area through CCTV cameras means to provide security in the touristic area, it has been said. Five CCTV cameras have been installed in the Suketar area with the investment of Phungling-6, said the ward chair Madan Gurung.

10-year-old boy dies after drowning in Bagmati river

A 10-year-old boy, Gautam Das, from Rajdevi Municipality 9 Bramhuri, drowned while bathing in the local Bagmati river. The boy was rushed to the Provincial Hospital Gaur for urgent medical care, but the attending doctor declared him dead.  DSP Damodar Adhikari of the District Police Office Rautahat confirmed the incident, emphasizing the critical condition of the child prior to his passing.

Chyangra worth over Rs 230 million exported from Mustang this Dashain

Chyangra, the Himalayan goat, worth over Rs 230 million has been exported to various districts from Mustang district for Dashain festival, it has been said. The Himalayan goats have been exported to various districts including Myagdi, Kaski, Parbat, Baglung and Kathmandu according to the Veterinary Hospital and Livestock Service Expert Centre Mustang. At least 5,755 Chyangra were exported for the festival this year, said the Centre’s chief Rishiram Pokharel.
