Man arrested for cheating



KATHMANDU: Police arrested a person for cheating on the pretext of sending a man to Malaysia for job placement.

Nepal Police, Kathmandu Valley Crime Investigation Office arrested 32-year-old Dhan Bahadur Bogati of Shikhar Municipality, Doti currently residing at Setopul in Kathmandu Metropolitan City-32 on a swindling charge.

Office spokesperson Superintendent Rabindra Regmi said that Dhan Bahadur cheated Krishna Bahadur Bogati of Doti of Rs 300,000, alluring the latter that his monthly salary in Malaysia would be Rs 60,000.

Dhan Bahadur was absconding after taking the amount from Krishna. He was arrested after the Department of Foreign Employment issued an arrest warrant against him.

Police have handed him over to the Department for necessary investigation and action.
