Cabinet approves PM Dahal’s participation in UNGA



KATHMANDU: The Cabinet has granted approval for Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ to participate in the upcoming United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) session, slated to convene at the UN headquarters in New York, USA.

During a Cabinet meeting convened on Wednesday at the Prime Minister’s Office and the Council of Ministers at Singha Durbar, the endorsement for PM Dahal’s overseas visit was approved.

Set to depart from Kathmandu on September 16, PM Dahal has affirmed his presence at the UNGA, followed by a subsequent journey to China on September 21, directly from the United States.

Anticipating significant collaborations, PM Dahal revealed that several vital cooperative agreements are on the agenda for his impending visit to China.

In response to inquiries regarding the progress of Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) projects, the Prime Minister articulated his intention to engage in discussions on the matter.

Furthermore, he disclosed his intention to propose the allocation of grant-based cooperation from the Chinese side within the BRI framework to facilitate project realization.

PM Dahal has also plans to engage in bilateral talks with Chinese President Xi Jinping as part of his official visit to China.
