Monetary policy: Foreign currency loans can no longer be repaid in Nepali currency



KATHMANDU: The Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) has announced the removal of the option to repay loans taken in foreign currency in Nepali Rupees as part of its monetary policy for the current financial year 2080/81.

NRB made the monetary policy for the current fiscal year public on Sunday.

The facility, initially introduced during the Covid-19 outbreak, has been discontinued due to the reduced impact of the pandemic.
