Kami Rita sets record by summitting Mt. Everest for 28th time



KATHMANDU: Kami Rita Sherpa, hailing from Solukhumbu, has achieved an extraordinary feat by successfully conquering the summit of Mt. Everest for an unprecedented 28th time.

54-year-old Kami Rita climbed Mt Everest for the 28th time to maintain the world record of his name.

According to Seven Summit Treks, he reached the peak of Mt Everest (8,848.86 meters)  for the 28th time at 9:23 am Tuesday morning.

Kamirita set the world record for climbing Mount Everest the most times (28 times).

According to Seven Summit Treks Pvt Ltd, this is his second Mt Everest climb this season.

Earlier, he reached the peak of Everest on 17 May 2023.

Sherpa, who was born in Thame village of Solukhumbu district, climbed Mt. Everest for the first time on May 13, 1994.
