Seven tested positive for COVID-19 in Sudurpaschim

SUDURPASCHIM: A total of seven people were found carrying the Coronavirus in Sudurpaschim Province in the past 24 hours.

The infection was detected in seven people from the 116 samples collected from those entering Nepal via Gauriphanta Checkpoint, according to the Health Directorate in Dipayal.

Of the total of 300 entering Nepal through this Checkpoint in the past 24 hours, samples were collected from 116 suspected ones.

Seven people contracted the flu-like infection in the Antigen tests, informed the Directorate.

The sample test of those entering Nepal is being conducted through the Health Desk set up in the Checkpoint.

Coronavirus cases are coming to fore in the country lately although the infection was almost nil for some months.

Directorate’s COVID-19 Focal Person Hemraj Joshi shared that Coronavirus cases were reported in Nepal with the rise in infection rate in India.

“Coordinating with the concerned local agencies, we have been suggesting keeping the suspected ones in isolation for a week and sending them to their home,” he said.

In a preventive measure against this deadly infection, booster doze are being administered in all districts of the Sudurpaschim Province.
