Bike-van collision kills three in Itahari



KATHMANDU: A devastating accident occurred last Friday in Itahari, Sunsari, resulting in the loss of three lives when a motorcycle carrying four individuals collided with a van coming from the opposite direction.

As per the report from the District Police Office, Sunsari, the incident took place at Itahari municipality-17, Kanchi Chowk, around 11:30 pm last night. The collision involved a motorcycle and a van bearing the Indian registration number W73E9117.

Among the deceased are Karan Chaudhary, 26 years old, and Shambhu Chaudhary, 27 years old, both hailing from Itahari-16. The third victim is identified as 24-year-old Aninesh Chaudhary, also from the same locality. Another individual, Premlal Chaudhary, aged 27, sustained serious injuries and is currently receiving medical treatment at the BP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences in Dharan.

Despite immediate transportation to the hospital, three of the injured victims succumbed to their injuries while undergoing treatment. The local authorities are investigating the circumstances surrounding the collision to determine its cause.
