PM Dahal and Biplav hold talks over party unification

Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal “Prachanda” and General Secretary of Nepal Communist Party Netra Vikram Chand “Biplav” held a meeting on Thursday morning. According to Ganga Dahal, the daughter of PM Dahal, the meeting took place between PM Dahal and Biplav at the Prime Minister’s official residence, Baluwatar.

Mayor Balen Shah of Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) made a defiant statement on Thursday, expressing his refusal to comply with the High Court’s order that prohibits the discontinuation of Indian film screenings in Kathmandu’s film halls. He announced his intention to defy the recent short-term interim order issued by the Patan High Court.

At least 13 people have died and 26 others injured in monsoon-induced floods and landslides at various parts of the country. Home Ministry’s Officiating Secretary Mahadev Panth told the Sustainable Development and Good Governance Committee of the National Assembly that 13 people have so far died in monsoon-induced floods and landslides so far.

RSP picks Anil Keshari Shah as party’s Head of Training Department

Anil Keshari Shah has been picked as the Head of Rastriya Swatantra Party’s (RSP) Training Department. It is said that Shah, a banker, joined RSP a few days ago. A meeting of the party’s Central Committee and the Parliamentary Party held on Thursday entrusted Shah with the responsibility of the Head of the Training Department. Party chairman Lamichhane gave the responsibility to Shah wearing the party logo.

“Bright Gandaki Province” to be announced

The Gandaki Province is to be declared as a ‘Bright Gandaki Province’ in Fiscal Year 2023-24 by means of mass electrification campaign within the province. It is stated in the province budget for fiscal year 2023-24 that this goal would be attained by carrying out electrification and expansion of alternative energy throughout the Gandaki Province.

Birgunj Metropolitan City unveils budget of Rs 3.21 billion for FY 2023-24

Birgunj Metropolitan City, the only metropolis in Madhes Province, unveiled an estimated budget of Rs 3 billion 213 million for the upcoming Fiscal Year 2023/24. Metropolis Deputy Mayor Imtiaj Alam presented the estimates of income and expenditure (budget) of Rs 3 billion 213 million and 544 thousand for the fiscal year 2023/24.

27 succumb to dengue in Bagmati province

Bagmati Province recorded 42,459 dengue patients in the current fiscal year. Of them, 27 lost their lives. The highest number of dengue patients was found in Kathmandu which was 14,500 while the least number of dengue patients was in Rasuwa, according to Bagmati Province’s Health Ministry.

Pashupati Study Centre to be established in Pashupati Area

A study center will be established targeting the people who want to carry out research on oriental philosophy. The Pashupati Area Development Trust (PADT) has in its proposed master plan come up with a concept of establishing the center named ‘Pathupati Study Centre’ in the Pathupati Area.

Nepal lost to West Indies by 101 runs in the third match of the ICC World Cup Qualifiers Thursday.
