New source of hot water found in Myagdi

TATOPANI, MYAGDI: A new source of hot water has been found at Annapurna Rural Municipality in Myagdi district.

The source was found on the bank of Kaligandaki River beneath a hill of Katunje village.

Gam Bahadur Ramjali, a local resident, said that the new source of hot water was recovered while digging after witnessing the vapor coming out from the site which is some minutes away from the Beni-Jomsom road section.

Ramjali said, “We have readied a pond where at least three persons can take a bath at a time.”

Lal Maya Purja, 67, of Dowa, said that there was a hot water pond some six decades ago where the local residents used to go for the hot water bath.

People believe that taking a bath in hot water is a natural healing system for some health problems including skin diseases and wounds.

Likewise, Chairman of Annapurna Rural Municipality-2 Om Prakash Phagami said that the local government would work for the conservation and management of the source of hot water adding that local people have also put forth their demand for the same.

Several ponds of hot water in Beni, Raghuganga, Dhaulagiri, and other areas in the districts are the famous ponds of hot water that people from different districts visit for the hot-water bath.
