Nepal exports Diaper worth Rs 160 million from Nepal in 9 months, imports worth Rs 1.5 billion



KATHMANDU: During the 9 months of the current fiscal year 2079/80, diapers worth 160 million rupees have been exported from Nepal.

According to the 9-month data published by the Customs Department, diapers equal to that price were exported from July to March.

During this period, 26 million pieces of diapers have been exported. The data reveal that all the diapers exported from Nepal went to India.

Similarly, diapers worth more than Rs 1.54 billion have been imported from abroad during this period.

During the period of 9 months, 93 million diapers were imported from abroad and the government collected revenue of 457 million rupees.

In Nepal, diapers are imported from more than 10 countries in the world. Most of them are imported from India and China.

During this period, diapers worth 1.36 billion rupees were imported from India, while diapers worth 18.17 million rupees were imported from China.
