KATHMANDU: Aimed at raising awareness on climate crisis, the Institute for Strategic and Socio-economic Research (ISSR), NUSAN and the United States (U.S.) Embassy in Nepal jointly organized a cycle rally on Saturday on the occasion of Earth Day 2023.

Covering a distance of approximately seven kilometers, the rally that commenced from Patan Durbar Square on Saturday morning culminated at Mahalaxmi Temple in Lubhu, situated in the Lalitpur district.

Around 150 cycling enthusiasts, including the US Ambassador to Nepal Dean Thompson, participated in the rally which was inaugurated by the Mayor of Lalitpur, Chiribabu Maharjan.

A substantial number of NUSAN members and other dignitaries were present on the occasion.

Expressing his enthusiasm, Ambassador Thompson stated, “I am thrilled to be a part of this event.”

Ambassador Thompson expressed his hope that the event would help raise awareness about the significance of preserving the environment.

He stated that each individual has a responsibility to contribute towards creating a sustainable future and protecting the planet.
