Rural economy can be boosted through tourism: President Bhandari

PARBAT: President Bidya Devi Bhandari asserted that rural economy would be stronger through development of tourism.

Inaugurating the Adibarah Mandir at Purnagaun in Jaljala Rural Municipality-2 in Parbat district today, President Bhandari said that conservation of biodiversity and marketization of agricultural produces would aid in development of rural economy.

Bhandari viewed that we could build self-reliant economy by increasing domestic production through entrepreneurship based on agriculture, forest, water resources and tourism and thereby creating jobs.

“There are many historic temples and shrines and tourist spots scattered in many places across the country that are yet to hit the sight of the public. The local community would be directly benefitted if the local, provincial and federal governments take the lead in conservation, preservation and promotion of those places,” she said.

Bhandari extended her gratitude towards the local community for conserving the famous Baraha Lake in the community level and said that she felt that Parbat district could attract many domestic and external tourists by promoting tourists places in Parbat district.
