Janakpurdham youths kidnapped and murdered in India

Two youths from Janakpurdham have been murdered in India after being kidnapped. Rohit, 25-year-old son of Jagdish Sah, resident of Janakpurdham Sub-Metropolitan City, and Bishnu, 22-year-old son of Rambabu Sah, resident of Janakpurdham-13 have been found murdered in India.

NC writes letter to Parliament Secretariat seeking main opposition party’s status

Nepali Congress (NC) on Sunday registered an application at the Federal Parliament Secretariat seeking the status of the main opposition party. It has also demanded service and facilities to the party in the capacity of the main opposition party.

Nepal’s festivals have historic and scientific value: PM Dahal

Prime Minister Pushpa Kamala Dahal ‘Prachanda’ has said Nepal’s festivals have carried huge historic and scientific significance. In a message of best wishes today on the occasion of the Lhosar festival, celebrated mainly by the Tamang community from the mountain and upper hilly regions of the country, PM Dahal viewed that all ethnic communities have their own cultures and tradition.

President Bidya Devi Bhandari has said that festivals like Sonam Lhosar enhance the spirit of mutual harmony, tolerance and fraternity among all Nepalis. In a message on the occasion of Sonam Lhosar, the President has expressed the belief that such festivals help further strengthen the national unity and provide the strength to everyone to move forward to build an economically and socially prosperous country.

4 killed in Surkhet car accident

Four people died in a car accident in Surkhet on Sunday morning. The car (Ba Pra 01026C 9213) coming from Chinchu towards Birendranagar met with an accident at Birendranagar-11 Juprakhola.

In his virtual address to a program entitled ‘Remittance and Investment in Nepal’ organized by the Overseas Nepali Forum, the United States of America, the Minister said the government was ready to create atmosphere conducive for promoting legal channel for remittance inflow and productive sectors.
