65 persons acquire naturalized citizenship in Solukhumbu



SOLUKHUMBU: A total of 65 women have received their naturalized citizenship from Solukhumbu district in the past two decades.

The District Administration Office, Solukhumbu, said that women of foreign nationality married to Nepali men received naturalized citizenship till this year since 2058 BS.

Chief District Officer of Solukhumbu Basanta Bhattarai said that 49 India-born women and 16 China-born women acquired naturalized citizenship from the district.

As per the legal provision, the woman of foreign nationality married to a Nepali man is eligible to apply for naturalized citizenship after submitting the marriage registration certificate.

Meanwhile, the District Administration Office has distributed a total of 2,408 citizenship certificate sin the first nine months of the current fiscal year.
