President Paudel to embark on European tour starting Nov 8



KATHMANDU: President Ram Chandra Paudel is set for a visit to European nations, France and Germany.

Sources said that President Paudel’s itinerary includes a departure on November 8 for these significant engagements.

His first destination will be Paris, France, where he is scheduled to partake in the Paris Peace Forum program on November 10 and 11.

The forum is expected to witness the presence of a multitude of global leaders, heads of international organizations, business figures, and representatives of development banks, foundations, and non-governmental organizations.

Following the forum, President Paudel will visit Germany, upon the official invitation extended by German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier.

This visit underlines the strengthening of bilateral ties and cooperation between Nepal and these European nations, emphasizing the significance of the trip in fostering international relations and diplomacy, the source said.

It may also be noted that German Ambassador to Nepal, Thomas Prinz, had earlier said the people of Germany were eager to welcome President Paudel to their country.

Stating that Germany has been supporting Nepal including in the post-earthquake reconstruction and during the coronavirus pandemic, the German Ambassador expressed commitment to give continuity to such support in coming days.
