Bureaucracy need to be effortful to resolve economic problem: Finance Secretary Pushkar



KATHMANDU: Newly-appointed Finance Secretary Dr Krishna Hari Pushkar has stressed the need for bureaucracy to put in optimal efforts to resolve problems in the country’s economy at present.

Directing Finance Ministry employees, Finance Secretary Pushkar expressed the hope that problems surrounding the country’s economy would be resolved.

“The government has entrusted me with the responsibility of looking after affairs of the ministry as a finance secretary at a time when the economy is facing many challenges. I have taken this very seriously. I have confidence that we can resolve the challenges facing the state. We will resolve challenges of economy at any cost,” he said.

Mentioning that the country’s economy at present is facing national and international challenges, Finance Secretary Pushkar expressed the hope that the problems could be resolved by carrying out work dedicatedly and confidently.

“At present, there are challenges like that of stabilizing the economy, reducing revenue deficit and managing public debt. In the issue of capital market, all stakeholders should come together to manage challenges. Challenges come from time to time. These challenges should be managed and addressed.”

Results could be achieved through coordination and implementation of the disaster policy and monetary policy, he viewed.

Earlier, Pushkar served as revenue secretary of the Finance Ministry and finance secretary.

He also expressed the hope that government employees would fully help him carry out his duty.

He also directed government employees to carry out their duties with extra labor and dedication in the present context.

“We need teamwork to carry out result-oriented work. All friends have dedication to work. Honoring their duty, I urge them to work with additional enthusiasm. I am hopeful that you will do your duty professionally and responsibly.”
