Meeting of Socialist Front underway in Kathmandu



KATHMANDU: A meeting of the Socialist Front comprising four political parties is underway in Kathmandu.

According to Unified Socialist Spokesperson Jagannath Khatiwada, the meeting earlier scheduled to be held at 6:00 pm on Sunday was rescheduled for 7.30 am on Monday.

The meeting is taking place at the Aloknagar-based central office of the Unified Socialist is discussing government functioning, and contemporary political topics, among other issues.

The Front is meeting for the second time since its establishment around three months ago.

Earlier, the meeting was postponed due to the passing of Sita Dahal, Maoist Centre, leader and the spouse of Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’.

The Front comprises Maoist Centre, Janata Samajbadi Party, Unified Socialist and the Nepal Communist Party led by Netra Bikram Chand ‘Biplav’.
