Parliamentary Hearing of proposed CJ Shrestha to be held today



KATHMANDU: The Parliamentary Hearing Committee has scheduled a hearing for proposed Chief Justice Bishwambhar Prasad Shrestha today (Monday).

A meeting of the Committee held on Sunday decided to conduct a hearing for Shrestha’s recommendation for the appointment to the post of Chief Justice.

The Committee on August 9 had sought complaints, if any, against the proposed Chief Justice, and it has received three complaints.

The complaint was required to be in decent language and supported by evidence.

The Committee will hear from the complainants before starting a hearing over the recommendation today.

In the meeting, the proposed Chief Justice will give his presentation focusing on his competency, experiences, action plans and concept.

Upon the completion of the hearing, the meeting will decide whether to endorse the recommendation or not.
