Home Minister Narayankaji Shrestha has emphatically reiterated his commitment to uncovering the truth behind the gold scandal, regardless of any undue influences. During his visit to the Tribhuvan International Airport Customs Office and Immigration Office on Friday, Minister Shrestha vowed to take strict action against all individuals involved in gold smuggling and to implement effective measures to prevent such incidents in the future.

DHO launches preparedness plan to control Dengue spread in Kavre

The District Health Office, Kavre, has started preparedness to control the spread of dengue in the district. The district is at high risk of the dengue fever spread. Chief of the District Health Office Dr Purushottam Sedhain said that the stakeholders are asked to destroy the possible breeding sites of mosquitoes and regularly clean up the factories.

Electricity to be disrupted in some areas of Kathmandu and Lalitpur on Saturday

The Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) has announced a scheduled power supply disruption on Saturday, July 22, to carry out necessary maintenance work. The Teku substation will undergo an 8-hour power shutdown, starting from 8:30 am until 4:30 pm.

73-year-old woman gang-raped in Dang, two arrested

A 73-year-old woman was gang-raped at midnight in Dang, Tulsipur. The incident took place at midnight inside a parked bus (Na 4 Kha 7848) at Tulsipur Sub-metropolitan City-5 on Thursday night, as reported by the police. The victim, who hailed from Pyuthan, had traveled to Tulsipur for eye treatment.

Gold smuggling case: 10 arrested so far

The number of individuals arrested in connection with the approximately one-quintal gold smuggling case has now reached 10. The latest arrest in the ongoing investigation is Krishna Kumar Shrestha, the owner of Trans Global Services.

Govt to operate express bus from Suryabinayak to Ratnapark

The Ministry of Physical Infrastructures and Transport Management has informed that it would operate an express bus service from Suryabinayak of Bhaktapur to Ratnapark, Kathmandu. The express bus service would begin from coming September 18.

12 ventilators gather dust in Bheri Hospital

Altogether 12 ventilators are being stored in the godown in Bheri Hospital in Banke district for some time now in lack of maintenance. The life-support machines were provided by the government of Nepal and various donor agencies during COVID-19 pandemic.
