Incitement case filed against ELIPHS Hostel warden for allegedly provoking child to commit suicide



KATHMANDU: An incitement case has been filed against the hostel warden of ELIPHS (Eternal Light Public High School) for allegedly provoking a 12-year-old boy to commit suicide.

According to Kathmandu District Court sources, an incitement case has been filed against Ram Prasad Sapkota alias Rayan, Hostel Warden of ELIPHS in Kathmandu Metropolitan City-16 Bahati Pokhari.

A case has been filed in the district court of Kathmandu accusing 12-year-old Abhishek Tamang, who was living in ELIPHS hostel and reading in the same school, committed suicide as the Hostel Warden Sapkota provoked him to do so.

Tamang was found dead hanging from the bedpost around 12:30 pm, on June 1. He was found dead with a green karate belt noose around his neck.

Then Sandira Tamang, the mother of the boy, lodged a complaint of molestation and child rights abuse against Warden Sapkota, Principal Dilhari Dahal, and teacher Purushottam Adhikari. She filed a complaint saying that her 12-year-old son was forced to commit suicide after being forced to clean the toilet, and made subject to physically and mentally torturing her.

After that, Sohrakhutte Police Circle started the investigation. District Public Prosecutor’s office launched a file against the hostel warden.
